This fall I will be training current 4th graders as well as any older students who are interested in
the ministry of altar servers for weekday, weekend, and school Masses.
During this training not only are the children going to learn how to be an altar server, but they
also learn the proper or formal names of the items used in the sanctuary and sacristy of the
church.
The training sessions will be after school on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday for 35 minutes.
Please mark to serve and return this form by September 10, 2025 to the school office.
Your child must be a baptized Catholic who has received the sacraments of First Reconciliation
and Eucharist in order to serve Mass.
Once the sessions have been completed, your child will be added to the Altar Server Schedule
and will be assigned along with an older server unless the child has an older sibling who has
been trained. The expectation is that servers arrive at least 15 minutes prior to Mass, or Father
will find a substitute. Donna Heesacker churchsecretary@vcsknights.org handles the scheduling.

Finally, SA VE THE DATE, November 15 and 16, 2025 all new altar servers will be
commissioned and receive their personalized cross at the weekend Masses.
